Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the annual Medical Management Plan for a Medicaid population in regions across the state
  • Oversee clinical operations and medical management activities across the continuum of care (assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluation) for Prior Authorization, Utilization Management and Discharge planning)
  • Ensures local clinical processes, policies and procedures meet regulatory/NCQA/CMS standards and are consistent with the national clinical model
  • Works collaboratively with the Medical Director, providers, delegated entities and health plan management to oversee the management of a health services department with the objectives of improving the quality of care deliver to members, improving cost efficiencies and developing an environment of operational excellence
  • Collaborate with other Plan staff to identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational issues to promote growth, achieve organizational goals in accordance with the organizational values
  • Regularly monitor member and provider activity to identify potential over utilization or underutilization of covered services
  • Maintain productivity reports that measure department staffs work volume and efficiencies
  • RN required, BSN or MSN preferred; undergraduate degree with equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of managed care or UM Medical management required: Medicaid experience preferred
  • Solid project management skills: planning, implementation, and evaluation of objectives and goals; budgeting and personnel management
  • Ability to build and manage a team of local office-based and telecommuting employees
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills required in MS work, Excel, Power Point, Share Point
  • UM or UR certification is desired
  • NCQA, URAC and HEDIS experience is beneficial

Position Profile

The Quality and Compliance Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of a performance improvement program. This position also advises leadership of regulatory requirements; supports maintenance of the compliance program; provides guidance regarding creation of, and assures maintenance and distribution of, current policies and procedures.



Responsibilities

  • Maintains and supports HOV's quality and risk management programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSN required.
  • Minimum two years quality and performance improvement experience.
  • Current state of Arizona license as a registered nurse.
  • Supervisory principles related to interviewing and performance management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy and authority and interpret and explain complex information. Strong presentation skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to meet people with ease and build rapport.
  • Strong coaching/mentoring and conflict management skills.
  • Possess professional image, enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills including the ability to interpret a variety of information furnished in multiple ways, to assess accurately and to choose a reasonable action.
  • Ability to manage time well, meet deadlines and perform with attention to detail, speed, accuracy and follow-through.
  • Ability to calculate figures and perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Proficient computer skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters preferred
  • Hospice or home health experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice federal and state regulations preferred.
