2008 Education and Leadership Development
AzONE offered four education sessions in 2008 that addressed one or more of the needs of its membership.
- February 2008: Kathy Player, EdD, MS, NL, MBA and Beth Houser, RN, DNSc, FNP-BC, CNAA spoke on Pivotal Moments in Nursing History – Leaders Who Changed the Path of a Profession.
- April 2008: Four senior graduate students in the first Master of Healthcare Innovation program at Arizona State University College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation shared their perceptions of what innovation means for healthcare, experiences and challenges in innovative processes and leadership.
- September 2008: Suzanne Geimer, RN, CEN, MICN and Carolyn Catton, RN, CHE, BPA, MBA spoke on standing up to the California Nurses Association (CNA).
- November 2008: Ginger Malone, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota, spoke on Transparency in Patient Safety: The Minnesota History of Never Events.
Membership Report
Membership continues to significantly increase from 214 at beginning of year to 241 currently. This is the largest membership in AzONE’s history.
AzONE Executive Director
The
AzONE Board has determined that a part-time Executive Director is needed to
provide leadership and support to AzONE moving forward. A job description has
been created and approved by the Board and the position will be posted in early
2009.
